Google Doodle, Martha Graham's 117th Birthday

Screen dumps of a very cool animated Google Doodle.  It started from the right and unfolded to the left.  Very cool  Martha Graham choreographed her first ballet in 1926, her last in 1991.  Quite an accomplishement.  She chorerographed Aaron Copeland's Appalachian Spring, one of my favorite pieces of music.  She was born in Pittsburgh!   To read more about Martha Graham:

Here is a video of the Google Doodle in action:

  1. Today Google shows an excellent animated Google Doodle in its home page for celebrating 117th birthday of Martha Graham an American dancer choreographer

  2. I went over to Google this morning,,saw the animation, and thought,,ha,,I bet Sextant's all over this one..........and.............I was right.
And...I would bet my next retirement stipend that you know the exact time that Google changes over to the next days header.
Am I right or am I right ???
.....and you entered retirement with trepidation.....
look at all the fun you're having..

  3. You give me far too much credit. What happened was that before I went to bed last night, I checked my Stat Counter for hits on the site. I saw several Google inquiries from Australia questioning the Google Doodle for May 11. May 11? The last Google Doodle I saw was May 9th. It was about 12:05 so I checked Google and there it was. The Doodle changes at midnight for each time zone, or so I believe.

Some of the fun I am having is not very much fun. I have become somewhat educated on water movements in places I never heard of a couple of months ago, and worry about people that I have never met but have come to think as old friends. Get that wine moved up to higher ground.

  4. Google inspired me to to my own Tribute! Martha was a Classic Taurus!
