Thank you for your informative post and k...LST Fan

Thank you for your informative post and kind comments regarding my blog...LSTs are in my DNA! The loss of signal due to lowering the radio mast makes a lot of sense.

I joined the Memorial Association when I toured the ship when it was docked in Pittsburgh. Alas, with my bad back and junk knees I would not be able to be a crew member or participate in work week.

It is I who should be offering up the thank yous. Touring and chasing LST-325 was the most fun I have had in years. I had to force myself to quit the chase (especially after blowing it at Beaver PA)under the threat of unhappy spouse.Sextanthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02869179401767968180noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7833454649093878095.post-34913179422145020432010-11-28T13:09:48.660-05:002010-11-28T13:09:48.660-05:00Loved your blogs on the LST in your area. Just no...Loved your blogs on the LST in your area. Just now came in on a google alert. One item that caused you (& even the crew families & other followers) was the ship appearing to stay put or drive across land. This is due to the tracking system loosing signal (either no radio to pick it up or the ship having to lower the mast arm due to bridges blocking the beam). As a crew member's wife & a crew member in port I also lost the ship as I chased it. Being a part of the LST is a wonderful & very rewarding volunteer effort! You can join our memorial association if you haven't done that & even become a crew member if you like. See details on our home page to join the association. You will own a piece of the ship when you join. Maybe then a future blog could be that you just bought a ship (ok a piece of it with other friends) or my ship's bigger than your boat...
Again thanks for your most interesting blogs - hope to meet you sometime - come join us in working on the ship during work week if you can.LST Fanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03400077836511988322noreply@blogger.com
